Lea Michele is getting the privilege of being animated as one of the most enduring literary and film characters of all-time, Dorothy, in the upcoming Dorothy of Oz, but she revealed that she’s also honored by some of those that will join her in the cast.
ET can break that Broadway and TV veteran Bernadette Peters has signed on for the ensemble.
“I’m a Broadway baby so I’ve been a fan of hers since Into the Woods,” said Lea, who performs a duet with Bernadette on the film’s soundtrack.
Rounding out the cast is another Broadway actress, Smash star Megan Hilty, whom Lea knows from her days in New York City.
“I’ve known Megan for a while,” said Lea. “I think it’s just so great. And I think it’s encouraging also for people who come from theater that they can cross over into the film and TV world.”
The movie also stars Martin Short, Jim Belushi, Kelsey Grammer, and Dan Aykroyd. Look for Dorothy of Oz to hit theaters soon.
